Well everyone back to school today. Brennan in 9th, Kinslee in 3rd and last year
of Post High for Colby. They were all excited to go back (parents were too ; )

We took our family summer vacation this year right before school started. We had a blast. Went to California for a week. Started up by Santa Barbara and worked our way down the coast.

Rob had a great Father's Day today. I made his favorite coconut cream pie. Kinslee made the cutest butterfly out of an old pop bottle. It had love notes on the wings.

Brennan got awared the Physical Education Achievement Award yesterday.

It has been getting warmer here in St George. Get the pool out...

Kinslee celebrated turning 8 with a Luau party, got her ears pierced and baptized.

Celebrated my 40th birthday with two of my best friends on a cruise.

I have decided to start blogging more on a quarterly basis. Time
seems to go by so quickly and I don't seem to post much.

So today I was going through a bunch of my old pictures.
I came across one where I was the same age as Kinslee, seven. Low
and behold she is missing her two front with the same haircut
that I had at her age. She has wanted bangs for years, so this
past year she got them. I had forgotten how my hair was at that age.

Watched a great movie with the family today...
Really puts things in perspective. I love it when I pick a good movie!
It made me appreciate the great time spent with our kids this weekend.

I love playing barbies with my girl. These 2 were mine when I was around her age.

Brennan did great at his Southwest Region 4-H competition on Saturday.

Tonight Colby & I got to go to the Tarzan play at Tuacahn with his special needs mutual. Tuacahn is the only one with rights this year in the US to do this Disney play. It was great!

Old Bay on ice cream?

Last year we took the kids back east to see my mom's side of the family. While we were back there we had Maryland blue crabs at my uncle & aunt's house. There Brennan was introduced to Old Bay, which is mainly used on sea food. Ever since we have gotten back he puts it on everything... I guess everything, even ice cream!

Rob's Father's Day

Father's Day has been a good day for Rob today. I have reflected today what a great
Dad Rob is to our kids. I couldn't have picked a better Dad for them. He is so devoted to them. He coaches baseball, combs Kinslee's hair, runs them to dance/dentist/school, fishes with them, dresses Colby for church... I could go on and on. I love you Rob!

I have wanted a inside water fountain since we built our house 4 years ago. Our plumber kinda talked me out of one. He said they had lots of leaking or something. Well, I have regretted not getting one. Now we have one. Happy moments.....

Today we drove about an hour with a picnic lunch and a car full of kids to Zion National Park. It was our first time visiting this beautiful area. Kinda weird that
we have lived here in the St. George area for over 5 years and never been here. It is
amazingly beautiful. Brennan had been here before, but no one else. Great day!

What kind of parent buys their kid a Machete? Yea... that would only be a DAD. Brennan had been asking for machete for around a year. "Mom, I really need a machete", he would say continuously. So Rob went and bought it for him (of course without telling me) and gave it to him when all his friends were over. Guess who the favorite parent is right now?

Hollywood Tower Of Terror - California Adventure

Okay... this is by far the scariest ride I have ever been on (and only time I will go on it). We went to California Adventure & Disneyland on Monday. I can't believe this ride has been around for 5 years & we have never been on it. Great timing in regard to riding it at Halloween time. Brennan loved it!

Weekend BBQ

This weekend Heather, Rob's sister and her two girls & Mandy came to visit. We all got together on Saturday night for a BBQ. It was raining on and off all day and I was so happy that it cleared up and the night was just wonderful. Hot dogs, water balloons, popsicles, water guns, lots and lots of watermelon. Angie, Lance and the kids came over and we all had a great time visiting.

End of May was very busy for us. Colby graduated from Seminary & High School. Kinslee graduated from Kindergarten (which by the way, was on the same day). Thanks Steve and Stacie for coming down to support us! We took the kids up North for our annual "SCHOOLS OUT" trip to Park City & to visit family.

These are the two wonderful teachers that have taught & loved our Colby for the past 5 years!

One day a year I am alloted absolutely no work at all. Today it was. Love that. Blueberry pancakes,
homefrys, little OJ....breakfast was good. Rob did great this year. Pink roses, Reese peanut butter cups, card from the kids. I think my favorite present was from Kinslee though. She found a gift bag and put the gift together all by herself. In the bag was some perfume ( I was wondering what happened to that bottle out of my drawer), hand full of pennies, couple little bottles of bubbles from a wedding we went to a couple weeks back, picture she had drawn a month ago and given me. It was so sweet. She also gave me the hand print dipped in paint from Kindergarten that the teachers send home. Layed around and did nothing. Hope all the other mommies had a great day as well.

Over labor day holiday we drove up to Upper Box Creek in Fish Lake National Park. We had the second annual Hansen Family Reunion. Everyone worked hard to have a great time. Some of the highlights were dutch-oven lasagna, four wheeling from dusk to dawn, finding Shelly's keys, Kinslee getting over her bee sting & me being able to shower in the R/V!

Dad & Mom came down this Saturday (16th) for the 1st Annual Women's Council of Realtor's Sock Hop. It was a lot of fun and the chili cheese fries were amazing! Dad placed 3rd in the show. I was really glad they came down for this. I also want to tell them thanks, since it took 6 hours to get here, pulling that much weight!

This is one of those times as a parent where you are happy and sad at the same time.
Sweet little Kinslee was so excited today. Her teacher is Mrs. Clark. She goes to AM Kindergarten. Boy, I was so sad to be sending her off today. She looked so cute with her new little dress and "bee" backpack.

Judging at the county fair

For the past three years I have been a judge at the Washington and Iron county fairs. It was a lot of fun. I get to judge the baked goods, can't complain with that job! Okay, after months on end of wanting to start my family blog with lots of trial, I am satisfied with this start.
